CircleUp Education is rapidly growing and looking to add a multi-talented, driven, and thoughtful individual to our team! We are looking for a hard worker who is willing to help us grow and evolve our business and who is open to learning and growing in a startup environment. This person needs to be a self-starter, problem-solver and very motivated. Having a background in ethnic studies, peace and conflict studies, diversity and equity education, or sociology is highly recommended. Training in diversity and equity that focuses on Implicit Bias, oppression and institutional discrimination is also highly recommended. The training Synergist is a passionate, flexible, curious, and driven trainer who cares deeply about equity, social justice and restoring our communities. This person builds intimate relationships with our clients and facilitates custom trainings that inspire and engage participants. The Training Synergist is great at client communications, excellent at project management, and shows deep pride in all the work that they do. The Training Synergist is able to train small and large groups in a captivating and meaningful way, has amazing communication and dialogue skills, and knows how to navigate tough conversations. 

The training synergist will be working in a cohort that will include a minimum of one executive synergist, who will guide, evaluate, support, and supervise them and one administrative synergist, who will act as a support staff for them. These cohorts will work closely together to create a supportive, collaborative, and efficient team.

Job Responsibilities

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assess, Plan, Customize, Facilitate, Evaluate.

    The primary role of the training synergist includes Assessing, Planning, Customize, Facilitating, and Evaluating. On any given day you will be scheduling potential client meetings and engaging in phone or in-person meetings to assess their needs and match their needs with potential solutions that are just right for them. You will use our project management software to help you keep track of a minimum of 18 and a maximum of 30 clients that range from clients seeking single training sessions to multiple services. You will use our project planning templates to create detailed project plans to ensure that you provide the best possible client experience. You will use our training framework tools to help you customize solutions that reflect our client's community, needs, and barriers to their growth and progress. You will facilitate well thought-out and deeply engaging services with care, delicacy and empathy. You will evaluate the services that you deliver to ensure that you are meeting our client's needs and addressing the root causes of issues. These evaluations will be a key measurement tool in assessing your performance and ensuring that you are making a profound difference in the communities that you serve.

  • The training synergist will also develop and enhance client archetypes, which are deep empathy building tools that allow they to better plan and customize client services.

  • Support the Development Of Our Startup

    CircleUp Education is a rapidly growing start-up social enterprise that is currently building systems and tools to help us become more efficient, serve more people in our community, and create a lasting impact. As we are building new systems that directly or indirectly impact your roles and responsibilities, we expect you to provide feedback and assistant in enhancing or creating these systems for current and future synergist to benefit from.

  • Perform Administrative and Marketing Task

    The training synergist role includes task such as printing, packing, cutting paper, organizing training supply room, cleaning office spaces, packing, and shipping content to clients. This role also includes answering phone messages, running business related errands, and restocking essential supplies when necessary. In addition, you will need to be able to set up and break down trainings. This includes passing out handouts, setting up any required technology, and cleaning up training supplies at the end of training sessions.

  • The training synergist will also help create, prepare, execute, and manage marketing campaigns using our marking strategies, frameworks, and protocol.

Additional Essential Training Synergist Responsibilities

  • Facilitate trainings on Restorative Practices and Restorative Justice

  • Manage client relationships and respond to clients in a timely, respectful, and professional manner.

  • Facilitate trainings on topics related to Diversity and Equity

  • Coach and consult clients on topics related to school and workplace climate, conflict resolution and problem solving strategies

  • Assist with setting up, maintaining, and breaking down trainings.

  • Edit training and marketing materials

  • Assist in vendor relationship management

  • Manage client relationships

  • Coordinate company meetings, events, and sessions

  • Perform client relationship management duties

  • Participate in internal trainings to enhance your performance or develop any required skills that are needed to perform your duties.

Supplementary Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other CircleUp Synergists on administrative tasks and office organization projects

  • Maintain all development, team member, and project files

  • Create and maintain social media content on Facebook, Youtube, Twitter and other platforms

With the entire globe weathering COVID-19 we are asking our employees to temporarily telecommute to work daily until it is deemed safe for us to join each other in the workplace. To apply for this position as we are working remotely you must be able to successfully separate work and home boundaries, and be accountable for finishing your projects on time. You will also need to have the following already in place prior to hiring start date:

  • Physical Space: You will be provided with company furniture and technology that will require a 4’x3’ space of for CircleUp desk and computer accessories

  • Mental Space: A dedicated quiet place to work where you can filter out noise and distractions during work hours

  • Internet Access: You will need stable high speed internet access

  • Stable power: You will need stable power run and charge all equipment

Highly Recommended Skills

  • Proficiency with Google Suite including Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Forms, and Google Drive

  • Proficiency with Gmail

  • Proficiency with Mailchimp or similar mass mailer applications

  • Proficiency with Mac OS 10, Android, and IOS operating systems

  • Ability to lift 50-70lbs

  • Have a valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and ability to drive to work related destinations

  • Ability to travel for 1-6 days within the San Francisco Bay Area, California and throughout the United States.

  • 3-5 years of experience in an equivalent role, that included working in a fast-paced environment that involves multi-tasking and problem solving.

Highly Preferred Skills

  • Proficiency with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop software.

  • Proficiency with Coper or other CRM platforms

  • Bachelor's Degree or Masters degree in fields related to Peace and Conflict Students, Ethnic Studies, Sociology, Restorative Justice, Psychology or similar fields

  • Proficiency in a second language such as Hindi, Mandarin, Spanish, Vietnamese, or American Sign Language

  • Participation in a Restorative Practices or Restorative Justice training
