The San Francisco Recreation and Park Department currently manages more than 220 parks, playgrounds and open spaces throughout San Francisco, including two outside city limits—Sharp Park in Pacifica and Camp Mather in the High Sierras. The system includes full-complex recreation centers, swimming pools, golf courses, sports fields and numerous small-to-medium-sized clubhouses that offer a variety of sports- and arts-related recreation programs for people of all ages.

Description

San Francisco Recreation & Park has recreation jobs for their Expanded Learning (After School) program this Fall. A number of jobs with early afternoon to evening hours on a Monday to Friday schedule will be available at our Recreation Centers throughout the City. Participants will be from K5 to 6th grade who will need help with homework, beginning sports activities, arts & crafts, and other recreation activities. Help Youth to build positive relationships to get out and play!

Salary starts at $19.45 and goes up 1/5/22, $19.55.

If hired, you will be appointed to a temporary, as needed job with the City & County of San Francisco.

Qualifications

- Recreation Leader requirements:

• Minimum 500 hrs of verified qualifying recreation experience (supporting or leading a group of people in a community, cultural, educational or recreation activities).

• Prior work recreation or youth employment e.g.,Workreation, MYEEP, YouthWorks experience will qualify.

• High school diploma/GED.

- Certified Instructors (instructors of specialized recreation activities) requirements

• Minimum 1,000 hours of verified qualified recreation experience
