We Can 100: Supporting Growth Mindset and Self-Efficacy

Training Module

During this module, participants will learn about what self-efficacy and growth mindset are, explore our own mindset and the potential impact it has on youth, and share current strategies and resources to support the development young people’s growth mindset and self-efficacy.

This module was developed as part of the Expanded Learning 360/365 project, revised in 2016 to incorporate specific language, examples and tips for summer and year-round learning programs and revised in 2109 to incorporate language to support mental health and wellness.

In this training participants will:

  • Understand what self-efficacy and growth mindset are;

  • Explore their own mindset and the potential impact it has on youth;

  • Share current strategies and resources to support I Can skill building with youth.

Content Overview:

Establishing Agreements

Participants will review a list of group agreements and consider how they might be used to support the development of young people’s growth mindset and self-efficacy.

Exploring Personal Competence

Participants will learn about the explore growth mindset and self-efficacy and reflect on their own mindsets as they relate to their professional life.

Program Practice and Resource Sharing

Participants will share and discuss the strategies identified, current practices, and resources for supporting youth in developing growth mindset and self-efficacy.

eLearning Module

This session will focus on participants’ Personal Competency of their own self-efficacy and growth mindset. It will also set the foundation for how participants implement practices to support the development young people’s self-efficacy and growth mindset.

By the end of this course, participants will:

  • Understand what self-efficacy and growth mindset are.

  • Explore their own mindset and the potential impact it has on children and youth.

  • Learn strategies and resources to support I Can skill building with children and youth.
