This module was revised in 2016 to incorporate social-emotional learning, character building and Quality Standards for Expanded Learning in California as part of CalSAC's work with the Expanded Learning 360/365 project.
This topic exposes participants to the multiple ways privilege and power play out in the form of oppression. Participants will reflect on how privilege, power, and oppression play out in their lives and how they connect to their work with children and youth.

Participants will review the group agreements that they created and add anything that they feel is still missing or needs to be revisited.
Defining Privilege
Now that participants have explored their personal connection to privilege, they will create a working definition of the term.

Participants will define power and connect the definitions to ways power exhibits itself in participant's lives.

Participants connect privilege and power to forms of oppression.
