This module was revised in 2016 to incorporate social-emotional learning, character building and Quality Standards for Expanded Learning in California as part of CalSAC's work with the Expanded Learning 360/365 project.
During this training participants will further explore their “FRAMES” created in module Creating Respect and Safety and explore diversity through the use of quotations and small group discussions.
In this training participants will:
Enhance their self-awareness by exploring their identity and background,
Explore a variety of views on the meaning of diversity.
Content Overview:
Discovering the Roots of Your FRAME
Participants will take a deeper look at the FRAMEs which they created in the last training session, to unearth the source of some of their experiences and perspectives. This will prepare them to explore the meaning of diversity in the next activity.
Four Corners of Diversity
Participants will get to listen and respond to four various quotes related to diversity, as a way to begin to explore the meaning of the word and its implications in their work.
