Job Description

The National Equity Project's Associate position with the Center for Equity Leadership is an opportunity for a leader who is passionate and has experience in cultivating professional development and learning spaces for adults that are humanizing and that build the equity leadership capacity of attendees. This role will contribute to the innovation and evolution of NEP’s content and the vibrancy of NEP’s team and organization. The application window for this role will be open until May 31, 2022.

The Position

The Role

The NEP-BELE District Network is a Network designed to share and embed liberatory systems and mindsets into our institutions of education. We engage this work by connecting youth and adult coaches to different school districts around the country, and meeting to drive conversations and action around equitable learning. As a youth coach, your responsibility is to connect with the students of these districts to share your knowledge around youth organizing and navigating oppressive systems, while also supporting students in addressing their specific needs in their schools.

NEP Youth Coaches will host the 2nd annual Youth Liberation Symposium (YLS) in August 2022. The YLS will be an all-youth space intended to create a space for students from the BELE District Network to learn and share together and imagine their role in school transformation. In this role, youth will support the planning, design and facilitation of the YLS, in partnership with National Equity Project district coaches.

Requirements

Time Commitment: Approximately 5-10 hours per week
Pay Rate: Youth Coaches will receive a stipend for their planning, facilitation, and execution of the Youth Liberation Symposium.
