Job Description

The Program Delivery Specialist will oversee the ongoing creation and curation of core programming content, tools, and resources that are aligned with Camp Fire’s program framework and program priorities, with a primary focus on Camp Fire’s C.A.M.P.E.R initiative, Camp Accessibility, Meaningful Participation, and Equal Representation. The Program Delivery Specialist’s main objective is to ensure that core programming offered by Camp Fire is conducive to participants of all backgrounds feeling welcome, emotionally affirmed, physically comfortable, and able to participate fully, especially those whose identities have historically been excluded from quality social and learning experiences outdoors. Core programming includes but is not limited to activities and curricula; program structures, routines, and rituals; national projects and initiatives; and family/community engagement. Current program priorities include a focus on nature-infused programming, building developmental relationships, and creating diverse, inclusive, and equitable program spaces for all youth.

Qualifications

Education/Certification:
A minimum of three years of related experience and/or training in curriculum design; or equivalent combination of education and experience, OR, Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Child Development, Education, Environmental Education, Curriculum & Instruction, or related field master's degree preferred.

Experience:
• Have a minimum of three years’ experience working on topics related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and access in a formal or informal context including demonstrated experience in developing and delivering programs or training on diversity, equity, inclusion, and access. • Demonstrated understanding of overnight or nature-based programs. • Knowledge and experience in current best practices, research and trends in curriculum and instruction. • Experience facilitating small and large groups of adult learners, both in person and at a distance. • Strong analytical skills in data collection and analysis. Knowledge/experience in understanding statistics, educational research methods, and outcome evaluation tools. • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team and independently. • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills. • Experience with indicators of program quality and program quality assessment. • Functions professionally and productively with or without supervision. Takes responsibility for producing quality work, setting realistic deadlines and commitments, and maintains ongoing communication with all parties.

Ability to: Oversee ongoing management of core programming resources (curricula, toolkits), including prioritizing needs from network and establishing an ongoing process for request and review. ▪ Engage councils in the design, testing, and roll out process of any new/revised content. ▪ Evaluate and revise existing camp trainings to integrate and center diversity, equity, inclusion, and access in camp and other nature-based programming. ▪ Work with Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Specialist to scale best practices and lessons learned from C.A.M.P.E.R. Initiative across all Camp Fire programs. ▪ In partnership with the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Specialist, design a strategy for scaffolded learning across Camp Fire’s core curriculum, including defining scope, sequence, learning objectives and overall programmatic goals for new and existing camp activities and curriculum. ▪ Consult with Camp Fire councils to coach and provide technical assistance to camp program staff. This may include travel to Camp Fire councils to conduct observations, model facilitation, and train staff. ▪ Develop additional curriculum, toolkits, training, and implementation strategies for K-12 programs through the lens of diversity, equity, inclusion, and access. ▪ Develop interactive, virtual professional development that supports implementation of core programming across diverse program settings. ▪ Facilitate trainings and provide support training materials to ensure effective use of Camp Fire curriculum and program materials. ▪ Encourage and engage Camp Fire councils in knowledge and resource sharing to increase high-quality resource production. ▪ Keep abreast of the latest trends in curriculum and instruction, positive youth development, current events, diversity, equity, inclusion, access, social emotional learning, and nature-based programming, and implications for Camp Fire youth and staff.
