Zoila was born and raised in the city of Sacramento. Zoila studied Political Science at Sacramento City College and transferred to earn her degree in Political Science at UC Davis. Throughout her academic career, Zoila was a student senator for the Student Senate for California Community Colleges, Organizer for the Environmental Council of Sacramento, and a Mentor for Bannon Creek Elementary School.
Zoila most recently served as a Program Coordinator for the California AfterSchool Network. During her time as a Program Coordinator, she successfully executed important tasks in contract with the California Department of Education - Expanded Learning Division. Before her work for the network, Zoila had an extensive background working in California politics in different capacities, such as political campaigns, political fundraising, and legislative affairs. Combining her experience in policy, organizing, and the amazing OST community, Zoila aspires to further contribute to her community.
In her spare time, Zoila enjoys salsa dancing, hiking, and traveling. Zoila currently resides in her hometown of Sacramento, with her senior citizen rescue dog, Luc.
