During this module, participants will gain an understanding of when a young person’s mental health needs require professional support, explore resources in their community and create an action plan to cultivate partnerships with resources in their community.

Gain an understanding of when a young person’s mental health needs require professional support and expertise
Explore the types of community partners and services that are needed to serve their youth and families
Create an action plan to cultivate partnerships with resources in the community
Content Overview:
Pet of the Year
Participants will have an opportunity to practice advocating with one another.
Role of Out-of-School Time Staff
Participants will review the differences between their role as an out-of-school time staff member and the role of a mental health professional when supporting a young person’s mental health and wellness.
Defining Community
Participants will identify and define their community to prepare them to think about the resources in their community that can support them.
Community Mapping
Participants will spend time identifying and mapping resources in their community that can support a young person’s mental health and wellness.
Cultivating Partnerships: Action Planning
Participants will create an action plan to cultivate partnerships with the various resources in their community.
