position summary
Education Advisor's are responsible for carrying out strategic outbound selling tactics and business processes within a specified geographic territory that positions Pitsco Education solutions and curriculum as effective resources for the K-12 Education system. This position requires candidates to reside in the state of California, preferably in or near the following Metro Areas: Sacramento, San Francisco, San Jose, Fresno
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties might be assigned):
Embracing and utilizing a solution-selling approach
Creating and implementing annual business plans focused on a given territory
Building and maintaining relationships with key decision-makers in education, such as Superintendents and Curriculum Directors
Delivering customer-facing presentations (Virtually and In-Person)
Building and managing a healthy sales pipeline
Managing opportunities through sales stages from Development, to Qualification, to Close
Regularly hitting monthly, quarterly and annual revenue targets
Traveling to customer locations for business meetings, presentations and workshops
Traveling to and setting up displays at conventions and attending such functions as directed
Maintaining market share and profitability in accordance with annual plans and budget
Producing additional sales to current customers
Generating new customers
Using sales data to drive decision-making for territory insight and growth
Understanding the education market’s needs and dynamics
Utilizing sales technology tools (e-sell) to prospect, sell, and market to clients
qualifications/requirements:
Applicants must reside in in the state of California, preferably in or near the following Metro Areas: Sacramento, San Francisco, San Jose, Fresno
College degree with minimum of three years of sales experience
Ability to travel 20% to 30% of the time required
Open-minded worker who actively seeks responsibility
Creative problem solver who thrives in a customer-centric environment
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and/or with a team
Familiarity with the education industry, including trends, policies, and best practices
Self-motivated worker with excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks
Experience in building and maintaining relationships with key decision-makers in K-12 education, such as Superintendents and Curriculum Directors
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects while meeting deadlines and hitting goals
Strong presentation skills
Personal leadership and professional skills
Excellent computer skills
Experience with a CRM system
Current and valid driver’s license
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Ability to work general office environment
Ability to be physically mobile with reasonable accommodation including ability to walk, balance, kneel, crouch, reach, stand, and stoop
