GEACS: Middle School Computer and Information Technology (ICT) STEM Program

Are you looking to put the “T” into your middle school STEM program? CalSAC, in collaboration with SRI International (SRI), is looking for OST programs serving middle school youth to join us for the NSF-funded research project, Gender Equity in Afterschool Computer Science: An Impact Study of Single-Sex and Coeducational Settings (GEACS).

The GEACS Research Project will use the ICT4me computer science curriculum, an afterschool and summer youth-based curriculum designed to increase information and computer technology (ICT) fluency, interest in mathematics, and knowledge of ICT careers amongst middle schoolers.

What does your afterschool program site receive?

  • Access to the ICT4me curriculum during the GEACS research project and beyond.
  • 24 hours of professional development training from a trained CalSAC Trainer – two staff from your program site will participate in a cohort consisting of other local OST professionals.
